One day in Paris

By 6/24/2015 , ,

An idea of one day getaway to Paris appeared in my mind when I saw cheap tickets Girona-Paris-Girona in Ryanair.com. So why not? I've always dreamed about visiting this amazing city.

It was a hard day, because I got sick and we had to get up at 2 a.m., got back only at 2 a.m. the next day, but it was totally worth it.

So if you are in Paris for a day, what can you do? Of course it is impossible to see everything, but you can take a glance on a city to make a decision whether you want to come back or not. I decided to come back someday and to live here for some time.
We started our journey from Arc de Triumph. You can also climb on top of it and have a great view on a city, but we didn't have time for that.

From the Arc it is easy to get to other sights. Walking down the Avenue des Champs-ElysĆ©es will bring you to the main sights.

If you love shopping this is the place for it.

Everything you can see in one day is situated around Eiffel Tower, so it will be easy to move around.

There is something magical about Eiffel Tower even in the daylight.

A long time ago I remember I walked through 3D virtual tour on a Pere Lachaise cemetery website and imagined someday I will see it with my eyes. Well that day has come.

It is incredible place with a unique atmosphere. A town of dead. There is something special about it.

The cementry is almost empty, but there are small crowds of people near famous graves. One of them is a grave of Jim Morrison. A small grave, squeezed in between others, but probably still one of the most visited in the cemetery. The idol of his generation, lead singer of the doors, died when he was only 28 years old, but decades after he died he still has a loyal set of fans.

Also you will notice a lipstick-covered grave of Oscar Wilde. Since 2011 there is a barrier around the tomb that protects it from numerous fans.

Next stop was the Louvre. Of course there was no time to go inside because the lines are crazy.

But even if you don't have time to explore it inside it is still very nice to walk around. Paris is so beautiful in summer!

Notre Dame de Paris is only 5 minutes away from the Louvre.

We didn't notice how fast time flew by, and it was time to go back. There were still Sacre Cer and Monmarte in my plan, but it wasn't meant to be this time. We really really loved Paris and I badly want to come back again.
