If you are tired of noisy touristic Venice, you can find peace and quiet on the neighboring island Lido. Lido means "beach". Therefore the official name of the long, narrow island that separates the Venetian lagoon from the sea - Lido di Venezia. That is our destination!

It took us 10 minutes to get to the island. The view on Venice from water is spectacular!

It will sound strange for fans and lovers of Venice, but I liked Lido more. It is very green with small amount of people. The only negative side- the presence of cars.
The beaches are empty, but I think it is seasonal. October is still October.
We spend whole day wandering the streets of Lido and we didn't get bored. Time to go back to Venice.
